Fei Xia is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS)
The group mainly works at the interface between optics, computation and the brain (neuroscience). They build optical and computational tools for better image and understand the brain and also get inspired by brain to build smart, automated optical systems.
Current research topics include (1) designing and building smarter optical system for improved optical microscopy, sensing and information processing, (2) leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to design better computational tools for optics, and (3) tailoring our system for fundamental and real-world biomedical applications, such as understanding our brain and its diseases.
